For over fifteen months, the world has watched in horror as the Israeli occupation has systematically slaughtered tens — if not hundreds — of thousands of Palestinians, backed by the full force of Western powers. 

But as the peoples of the Global South know, these horrific crimes are part of a pattern — a blueprint for colonial and imperial domination and expansion over all corners of the planet. And there are few places where it is felt more acutely than in the Congo. 

The situation in the Congo is dire, as Western-backed Rwandan troops and their rebel proxies capture increasing swathes of the country’s territory. Nearly half a million people have been forced to flee their homes since the start of the year, adding to the seven million who are already displaced — all to serve imperialist appetites for Congo’s vast mineral wealth, whose plunder feeds the “green” and high-tech industries.
